The service

The Plate Yard builds and hosts a website preview for your food business at theplateyard.co.uk/[slug]. You can review that preview and send tickets or change requests before you pay.

Fees

You may take a site live for £25 a month. Cancel at the end of the current period. Alternatively you may pay £400 once. Hosted for as long as we operate the service.

Prices are in pounds sterling. Stripe collects payment. We do not store full card numbers.

Monthly cancellation

A monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time and then continues until the end of the current paid period. We do not charge a cancellation fee.

Lifetime

A lifetime payment covers hosting and reasonable upkeep of your site for as long as we operate The Plate Yard. It is not a transfer of the platform, and it does not survive if we have to close the service.

What we will not host

We refuse adult, gambling and illegal sites, and we may refuse other work that we believe would harm customers or the service. We can take a preview or live site down if it breaks this rule.

Preview before pay

A preview is not a live site until you check out. Asking for changes does not create a contract to buy. Payment through Stripe is the point at which hosting begins on the chosen plan.

Domains

If we put a .co.uk on your site, we own that domain and you rent the use of it. We do not register a name until you have confirmed it and paid.

The first year of that .co.uk is free. After that the domain is £2 a month, separate from the site fee of £25 a month or £400 lifetime.

You may instead point a domain you already own at our CNAME.

If you cancel and want to keep a domain we registered, the buyout is £100 and we then transfer it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
