A family cafe opened in 2021 by Chantal Charles-Smith. Parents can drink a coffee on the ground floor while children use the first-floor play area. There is no lift upstairs. There is space for pushchairs.

Why it exists

A haven for kids and adults.

As a parent of two young children, I knew firsthand the difficulty of finding somewhere to take kids that is family friendly and serves good quality coffee. As such, I wanted my coffee shop to be a haven that both kids and adults would love, with a designated children’s area on the first floor with toys to keep children entertained and busy whilst parents get a welcomed break.

Upstairs

A first-floor play area.

Toys on the first floor so parents can have a coffee downstairs. There is no lift. Pushchairs stay on the ground floor, where there is space for them.

We know it can be hard work looking after small kids, and finding time to relax, and hang out can be tough. We set Laughing Llama up to be a place where you can bring your young kids and relax with a nice coffee and something to eat whilst their kids play in our child-friendly first floor area. And of course, we love welcoming everyone to our ground floor area, with great food and drink available it's place to meet friends, do some work or just get some quality time to yourself.
